Living Mosaic is a way of life. It’s not something you “go to,” it’s something you are a part of. We believe that God is on the move in Montrose, in the greater Houston area, and beyond. We want to join in. It’s that simple!

  • Susan Schneider (She/Her)

    Pastor of Living Mosaic

Pastor Sue was born and grew up in the Philippines, the daughter of Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod missionaries. She has a BA in English and a master’s in Secondary Education, as well as an M.Div. from Pacific Lutheran Seminary. Her first career was teaching English, and stories are still a vital part of her work as a Pastor. She has also worked in public relations for non-profit theatres, including The Goodman Theatre in Chicago. She was ordained in 2002, and has served as a pastor in Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Washington, and now Texas. She is the founding pastor of Living Mosaic, a new ministry emerging from the former efforts of Kindred, Salem Lutheran, and Grace Lutheran in Houston.  Sue enjoys making art (especially stained glass mosaics), reading (especially historical fiction), movies, being an aunt, museums, and fabulous fashion. She and her husband David Gipson, a free-lance theatrical lighting designer, have two cats and a passion for traveling.

  • Kinnon Falk (He/Him)

    Deacon of Living Mosaic Ministries

Deacon Kinnon was part of the lay leadership and staff at +KINDRED, before joining the Launch Team and staff at Living Mosaic in 2025. He is also the director of Kindred Kitchen, our culinary training program for vulnerably-housed youth that operates in partnership with Grace Place. He enjoys local adventures with his family, eating at Houston's great restaurants, cooking for crowds, and volunteering with local organizations. He has master's degrees in divinity and ethics from Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, CA. He has worked in the local nonprofit sector for over a decade, focussing on homeless services and fundraising.

  • Sara (She/Her)

    Council President

Sara is executive assistant to Bishop Andy Doyle at the Episcopal Diocese of Texas. She likes puzzles, camping, crafting, hiking, and reading. She loves the beautiful bunch of weirdos that make up the Living Mosaic family.

  • Jeffrey (He/Him)

    Treasurer

Jeffrey was a member of Grace and Kindred, Living Mosaic’s legacy congregations. He has worked as a music director and worship leader at other local congregations. He enjoys cooking, knitting, helping out around Living Mosaic, and spending time with his Siberian Husky, Leo.

  • Ashwin (He/Him)

Ashwin is an engineer supporting the space program. He also serves on the Grace Place board as the Living Mosaic liaison. Ashwin enjoys taking walks, cooking for friends and family, and serving his community in the small ways he can.

  • Lucas (He/Him)

Lucas is a high school math teacher for YES Prep Public Schools. He loves reading, hanging out with his kitties, Phoebe and Maverick, and trying to keep an ever-increasing array of houseplants alive. He’s thankful to Living Mosaic for loving him because of his queerness and transness, not despite it.

  • John (he/him)

John is a chef at Whole Foods Market. He loves any excuse to spend time outdoors, but especially fishing and tending his garden. He is a new member to Living Mosaic, but loves the sense of community, service, and hospitality that lives in this congregation!
